AT&T has partnered with Mahindra Telecommunications Pvt. Ltd. to bid on a license in India. If the license is secured, AT&T will be able to deliver telecommunications services in all 22 circles in India.
AT&T announced today that it had agreed to acquire Interwise, a privately held provider of business-conferencing services. The deal, worth about $121 million, is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
Nokia Siemens Networks announced a deal today to transfer some of its R&D activities and personnel to IBM. The deal includes teams in Munich and Berlin, who will continue their development work for Nokia Siemens.
AT&T and Mahindra Telecommunications Investment Private Ltd. are part of a joint venture to open business operations in India for AT&T. Governmental officials welcomed the increased competitiveness of IT enterprises for the country. Planned investment is $750 million during 2007.
