Fewer Wyoming students are taking AP, IB or dual-enrollment college courses so they can maintain higher GPAs and better their chances of qualifying for a statewide scholarship valued at between $800 and $1,600 per semester, Jim McBride, Wyoming's superintendent of public instruction, told the state legislature. McBride said his department is considering weighting grades to encourage students to take more difficult classes.
