Maryland levied its biggest fine on a polluter in seven years yesterday, penalizing Constellation Energy and the operator of its fly ash dump site in Anne Arundel County, BBSS, $1 million for contaminating drinking water. In addition to the fine, the companies
agreed to clean up the ground water contaminants that have seeped into private wells and provide permanent hookups to the county's public water system for 40 homes.
