Third-year teacher Kaleb Tierce, 25, remains on paid leave but may face criminal charges for allegedly distributing harmful material to a minor, after placing Cormac McCarthy's "Child of God," which addresses the themes of murder and sex, on a ninth-grade English class reading list. School officials have since removed the novel from the list on the grounds it is inappropriate for ninth-graders.
