Using DNA fingerprinting, the USDA determined that the recent E. coli outbreak that caused nearly 100 illnesses in the U.S. and Canada may have likely come from beef products made by Canadian meatpacker Ranchers Beef. The Food Safety and Inspection Service has warned U.S. food makers not to use Rancher Beef's boneless beef "trim" and all its raw products.
