Although some anticipated a quiet fall for LGBT politics in California, pending the release of the state high court's long-awaited marriage decision, the opposite has been true: Gay-rights groups have launched a major TV campaign to make their case for equal marriage rights, while religious conservatives are working get a measure on the 2008 ballot on a law that prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation by teachers in the state's public schools.
