Nokia won a round in its patent dispute with Qualcomm when a U.S. International Trade Commission judge gave an initial ruling in its favor. Qualcomm claims Nokia has infringed on patents for GSM/GPRS/EDGE handsets. A final ruling is due in April.
Windstream reported a 32% increase in its broadband subscribers and a 189% increase in digital video customers during the third quarter. Revenue was up 7% for the quarter, although net income dipped 40%.
Nokia Siemens Networks announced a deal today to transfer some of its R&D activities and personnel to IBM. The deal includes teams in Munich and Berlin, who will continue their development work for Nokia Siemens.
