The peak Thanksgiving travel season begins today, and millions of people will travel, despite higher airline fares, possible delays at the airport and soaring fuel prices. The Air Transport Association noted that domestic air fares climbed 3.3% in October from year-ago levels, the largest jump in 2007. The ATA expects 27 million people to fly this Thanksgiving season, up 4% from year-earlier levels. The TSA is urging travelers to pack their bags neatly to avoid delays at security checkpoints.
