Even students in low-performing U.S. states may outscore European children in math and science, but Asian students continue to beat students in even the best U.S. states, according to test scores evaluated by the American Institutes of Research. U.S. students were evaluated according to their performance on the National Assessments of Educational Progress tests, which ranked Massachusetts students highest in math and North Dakotans as best in science.
