ConAgra Foods said it has removed up to 20% of sodium from many of its products without changing their tastes, in response to calls from consumer advocates to lower the average daily salt consumption because of health risks. The company also said it is working on new technologies to reduce sodium content in its foods even further, including a proprietary tool that can cut 30% of sodium in microwave popcorn.
