New Jersey preschoolers must be vaccinated annually against the flu and pneumonia, and older students will receive two more shots during their middle-school years, under a New Jersey Public Health Council recommendation expected to be given final approval by the state's health commissioner within a week. "Simply put, implementation of these rules will save lives and prevent disease and suffering in children, their families and the community," said state epidemiologist Dr. Eddy Bresnitz, who is also the deputy health commissioner.
