Manufacturers including Briggs & Stratton Corp., Kohler Co. and Ariens Co. have seen demand for generators and snow throwers increase as an onslaught of heavy snow storms recently hit the U.S. "Rather than build lawn mowers now, we are going to keep building snow throwers," said Dan Ariens, president of Ariens Co, which would usually stop making the equipment after the end of November as most are sold by Christmas.
