A winter storm caused United Airlines to cancel hundreds of flights on Christmas Day at Chicago O'Hare International Airport. The airline said that after flying late into the night on Sunday, one of the heaviest travel days of the year, to get passengers to their destinations, it was forced to cancel 10% of its schedule on Monday. The Christmas Day cancellations were made in an effort to get operations at its Chicago hub back on track in time for the busy Wednesday travel day.
