McDonald's, which added 800 units globally in 2007, plans to open 125 new restaurants in China and between 35 and 40 new eateries in Russia, according to the company. About 50% of McDonald's capital expenditures this year will support the opening of about 1,000 new restaurants overall, with the rest financing improvements at 1,600 locations, CFO Pete Bensen said.
