EMarketer estimates that there were 18.8 million Hispanic Americans who were regular users of the Internet in 2007 -- a figure that is set to reach 20.2 million in 2008. This will put the Internet penetration among the U.S. Hispanic population at 46% for the current year. Among Hispanic college graduates the rate is approximately 90%. Language and education remain key issues for marketers targeting Hispanic consumers online. Marketers must also consider age, income and the degree of acculturation if they are to reach this diverse population group effectively.
