Some insurance companies are aggressively competing for homeowners and condominium-dwellers policies in Florida, writes John C. Laurie, vice president of BB&T-Wyman Green & Blalock, a division of BB&T Insurance Services. He says the government must focus on oversight and governance of insurer solvency, fair-trade practices and promoting and attracting capital in order for Florida to have a healthy insurance market.
