The TSA continues to struggle with high turnover rates for airport security screeners. Government statistics show that 20% of the screeners left their jobs between Oct. 1, 2006 and Sept. 30, 2007, the same turnover rates as the previous year. A TSA spokeswoman called the turnover rate manageable and noted that new screeners get 180 hours of training when they are hired.
