Carnival Corp. has sent notices to travel agents and cruisers this week explaining that it is raising the fuel surcharge from $5 to $7 per day on future bookings. The announcement comes a week after the cruise line agreed to refund fuel fees that were levied on passengers after they booked their cruises. "We regret having to take this action, but fuel-price increases have continued, and we now find it necessary to implement a modest increase in the supplement," said Bill Harber, director of corporate marketing for the cruise line.
