U.S. transportation officials are poised to reverse an earlier opinion and approve a 23-mile extension of the Washington, D.C., Metrorail to Dulles International Airport, the Washington Post reports. The Federal Transit Administration is said to be satisfied that the $5 billion project will meet its standards for cost-efficiency, construction and ridership. The U.S. Transportation Department declined to comment on the report.
