An in-house assessment to gauge students' math progress in the Clark County School District created a bit of a stir, when the results showed that between 80% and 90% of the students had failed. However, superintendent Walt Rulffes said the exam results do "not in any way represent the quality of the teachers and the students in this community." He added, "This is a measurement and an assessment of where we are, and where we want to be."
