Employers are finding it difficult to fill engineering, machinist and skilled-trade jobs, according to a survey by Manpower. Part of the problem is the range of hard and soft skills required to succeed in today's workplace. "Hiring managers recognize the high cost of hiring the wrong individual for their organization so they are taking more time to find the right fit, even for these hard-to-fill positions," said Melanie Holmes, vice president of World of Work Solutions for Manpower North America.
