The state of California should wait to allow same-sex couples to marry, until the outcome of a proposed ballot question that would ban such unions is known, according to a filing by two anti-marriage groups with the state's high court. The city of San Francisco next week is expected to file its opposition to the delay, which was requested by marriage-ban organizers including Proposition 22 Legal Defense Fund and the Alliance Defense Fund.
