He notes that carriers have increased fees for changing itineraries. McCartney also notes that travelers may want to consider shipping their bags using FedEx, UPS or luggage shippers. Carriers have added fees for checking more than one bag, and American Airlines recently announced a $15 fee for checking a single bag.
