To become the recognized standard for home networking using existing wiring, the Home Phoneline Networking Alliance said it had shipped its 5 millionth chipset for HomePNA 3.1 -- a jump of 3 million in less than six months. "These chipset orders show the strong enthusiasm for the well-adopted home-networking standard," said Rich Nesin, president of HomePNA. "Millions of chipsets have been shipped in certified products, including IP set-top boxes, residential gateways, bridges, ONTs and test equipment for IPTV deployments."
