Aldi has performed a competitive price study to back up its claims of lower everyday prices. The company said its research revealed an average savings of $115 per month, as well as 6% to 24% lower costs on Aldi's select brands compared to discounters or big box stores, and 40% lower costs compared to traditional supermarket store brands.
President George W. Bush vetoed the farm bill Wednesday and the House quickly overrode the veto in a 316-108 vote. It was later discovered that a 34-page section of the bill was missing -- meaning the bill the president vetoed was not the same bill that passed Congress.
