Tishman Speyer Properties is embroiled in a dispute with tenants of Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village in Manhattan. Tishman purchased the properties a year ago for a record-breaking $5.4 billion and has since accused hundreds of rent-stabilized tenants of living somewhere other than their apartments. Lawyers for the tenants say the accusations are part of an aggressive attempt to drive out low-rent tenants to make way for high-rent ones.
