A survey by the Cruise Lines International Association found that consumer interest in cruises is solid, and the Caribbean is still one of the top destinations. They also found that cruise lines are boosting fuel surcharges to cover rising costs and skipping some popular ports where extra fuel is needed to reach them. "You're seeing a lot less of the real exotic types of itineraries that require more sea time because it's so expensive," said Carolyn Spencer Brown, CruiseCritic.com's editor in chief.
