Europe has invested heavily in LNG, building up to 30 regasification projects. A new report by Booz & Co. says greenhouse-gas policies and a lack of other energy sources are driving up demand for LNG and may pit the U.S. against Europe in a competition for the resource. "Carbon dioxide regulation is becoming more global, and therefore, creating a more global gas market with implications on volume flows and price levels," said Jake Leslie Melville, Booz vice president.
