Belgian-Brazilian brewing giant InBev NV has made an all-cash, unsolicited bid to acquire Anheuser-Busch in a deal that, if successful, would create the world's largest brewer with combined annual net sales of $36 billion. A-B CEO August A. Busch IV, the great-grandson of the founder, reportedly opposes a sale. However, the Busch family does not own enough stock to block the sale. Reportedly, InBev would be willing to adopt the A-B name for the combined company and make its headquarters for North American operations in St. Louis, where A-B is based.
