Silver took gold in ASCE's 21st Annual National Concrete Canoe Competition, as a team from the University of Nevada, Reno, ended a five-year winning streak by the University of Wisconsin, Madison. UNR's canoe was named Argentum -- Latin for "silver" -- and won a perfect score in design and placed better than fifth in every race. "Our students were absolutely fantastic, and their sportsmanship as great ambassadors for the University was unbelievable," said David Sanders, the team's adviser. "This is a huge win, not just for the College of Engineering, but for the entire University."
