Sprint Nextel said it would spend $100 million to market its Instinct touch-screen smartphone, and, at $130, has undercut its closest rival, Apple's iPhone, by about $70. Due to go on sale Friday, the Samsung-made Instinct, like the iPhone 3G, offers 3G Web access and a GPS receiver. Sprint customers will need to buy a minimum monthly plan costing $70 with a two-year contract to get the subsidized price, which includes a rebate.
