Collaboration and a team of 700 technologists have positioned the Cleveland Clinic as a leader in HIT. The hospital has created EHRs for nearly 5 million patients, implemented e-prescribing, created MyCharts so patients could access their records online and made rolling carts with computer terminals available to health care providers in exam rooms so they could "document every step of patient care in an electronic chart." The hospital's CEO believes that access to EHRs will improve patient care.
