Ten students from Michigan Tech have designed a lightweight, three-wheeled car that runs 457 miles on a single gallon of jet fuel. With a lawn mower engine and a top speed of 30 mph, the car isn't exactly road-ready, the students admit. Still, it's not as outlandish as it sounds: Pressured by high gas prices, Ohio plans to allow three-wheeled electric cars on the road beginning in September.
