New York allergist Dr. Clifford Bassett recommends planning ahead for children's activities, including checking with parents who are hosting events and ensuring you have emergency supplies on hand. He also recommends always reading labels to find any hidden ingredients that might trigger allergic reactions -- and calling the food manufacturer if you're unsure about a product.
