Southern California Edison began the installation of 33,000 solar panels atop a warehouse in a move it expects to generate 2 million watts of power -- enough to supply an estimated 1,300 homes. The project represents the first of 3.5 million solar panels SCE wants to install over the next five years, pending approval from state regulators. The panels would generate 250 megawatts of power and supply 162,000 homes.
