When Boston's Logan International Airport repaves one of its runways next year, it will use a new asphalt technology designed to have less environmental impact. So-called "warm mix" asphalt is produced using less heat, which saves up to 200,000 gallons of fossil fuel. Made with a mix of recycled asphalt, applying the new surface will also release an estimated 20% less greenhouse gases.
