A new U.S. study of more than 1,000 children ages 9 to 15 found a steady decline in physical activity. At ages 9 and 11, more than 90% of children met the recommended level of at least one hour per day of moderate or vigorous exercise, but by age 15, only 31% met the recommendations during the weekdays and only 17% on the weekends.
