Fiber is an important nutrient that can help with the digestive system -- preventing constipation, hemorrhoids and diverticulosis -- if you get enough of it. One health official says many people get about 15 grams daily but should consume 25 to 30 grams to get the full benefits. Foods with high sources of fiber include apples, strawberries, carrots and spinach.
