The percentage of obese adults in the U.S. increased from just under 24% to 25.6% between 2005 and 2007, the CDC said Thursday. Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee had the highest rates, while Colorado had the lowest, agency researchers found. The findings indicate that the U.S. should intensify efforts to address the issue "at the national, state and local levels," a CDC official said.
