This week, thousands of Texas eighth-graders have their third and final chance to pass a standardized test that will determine whether they will move on to high school next year with their peers. Statistics show that math is the main sticking point for most students, with nearly 56,000, or one in five, Texas eighth-graders having failed the math test twice, while just 5%, or roughly 16,500, have failed in language arts.
