Pennsylvania lawmakers have reached a tentative budget deal with Gov. Ed Rendell that will provide funding for about $2.5 billion in bridge repairs, sewer projects and other infrastructure upgrades. The deal is a compromise that will allow immediate repairs to 400 of the state's worst bridges, far fewer than the 3,000 bridges Rendell had hoped to fix under a 10-year bond scheme.
