San Francisco's California Academy of Sciences is in the midst of a move from its temporary downtown headquarters to its new home in Golden Gate Park. When an earthquake damaged the headquarters building in 1989, officials decided to have it completely redesigned using energy-conscious building techniques, including solar panels and a green roof. The new center will also have thousands of living exhibits, including a four-story indoor rainforest.
