U.K. researchers found that the PINK1 gene plays a role in preventing Parkinson's disease after using RNAi methods to inhibit the gene in neurons extracted from the ReNcell VM stem cell line. The study shows that the product, which is under license to Millipore, "can be readily modified and used to model human neurodegenerative disease in a dish," ReNeuron's chief scientific officer said.
