School attendance decisions traditionally have been a function of geography, but technology has the power to transform the way parents choose schools, writes a member of the Teacher Leaders Network, prompting a debate about the effect this may have on education. Top teachers might create their own virtual schools in the tradition of Aristotle or Socrates, one member said, while another believes many students would not want to miss out on the social aspects of a brick-and-mortar school.
