In the wake of three safety incidents on Qantas Airways in the past two weeks, Australia's Civil Aviation Safety Authority announced it will investigate the airline's maintenance and safety issues in greater depth. The carrier has one of the world's best safety records, but public concern has grown since the first incident on July 25 when a small explosion damaged an airliner's fuselage and forced an emergency landing in Manila.
