Deere & Co. plans to expand its parts distribution center for Western Canada by about 2 1/2 times, adding about 100,000 square feet of space but planning only a small increase in jobs. "It's all about better service," said company spokesman Ken Golden. The expansion in Regina, Saskatchewan, is part of an overhaul of Deere's distribution system designed to "support dealers and customers by locating service parts inventory closer to customers and dealers to enhance availability and speed of delivery," said Gail Leese, vice president of worldwide parts service.
