In recent decades, Mykonos had devolved into an overcrowded, excessively expensive Greek island devoid of glamour. The island is bouncing back, however, as hoteliers and restaurateurs combine a hedonistic past with fusion gastronomy, luxury lodging and great service. The turnaround, along with fantastic white-sand beaches and sunshine, has lured travelers who once shunned Mykonos.
