Three New York state organizations -- the Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation, the Senior Health Alliance of Greater Rochester and Wegman's School of Nursing at St. John Fisher College -- will jointly use a $250,000 grant to reduce the shortage of nurses in long-term care facilities. The three will sponsor Nurses as Leaders in Long-Term Care: Building Competencies and Commitment, a program that will focus on specific management skills that RNs need in a geriatric setting.
