The TSA will start testing machines at Los Angeles International Airport that are capable of scanning shoes for explosives. The TSA will collect data from the tests and then determine whether the machines can be used at other airports. "The required removal of shoes at the security checkpoint is one of the biggest complaints we get from passengers, so we are are trying something new that will allow us to maintain a high level of security while accommodating travelers," a TSA spokesman said.
