The U.S. military has set a goal for getting 25% of its energy from renewable sources by 2025. The Defense Department currently consumes 1.5% of all energy in the U.S., and the military has been hit hard by the recent increase in oil prices. "Every time the price of oil goes up $10 a barrel, it costs the Department of Defense $1.3 billion a year," a Pentagon spokesman said.
